Orden Privacy

Last updated: April 8, 2026

Your privacy is simple with Orden: we don’t collect your data. Period.

Overview

Orden is a local-first iOS app. All your reminders, shopping lists, templates, and preferences are stored entirely on your device. We do not operate servers, databases, or cloud infrastructure for this app.

Data We Collect

None. Orden does not collect, transmit, store, or share any personal data. Specifically:

  • No accounts or sign-in — Orden does not require or support user accounts.
  • No analytics or tracking — We do not use any analytics SDKs, crash reporting tools, or usage tracking.
  • No network requests — Orden does not connect to the internet. All data lives on your iPhone.
  • No advertising — Orden contains no ads and does not share data with advertisers.
  • No third-party SDKs — Orden is built entirely with Apple-native frameworks. No third-party code has access to your data.

Data Stored On Your Device

Orden stores the following information locally on your device using Apple’s SwiftData framework:

  • Reminders and to-do items (titles, notes, dates, priorities, categories)
  • Shopping lists and shopping templates
  • Custom list collections
  • App preferences (appearance, default reminder time)

This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to export it (for example, exporting an .ics calendar file via the iOS share sheet).

Permissions

Orden may request the following system permissions, all of which are optional:

  • Notifications — To send you local reminders at times you choose. Notification content is generated and delivered entirely on-device by iOS.
  • Calendar Access — To add reminders to your Apple Calendar via EventKit. Calendar data is accessed locally through Apple’s frameworks and is never transmitted externally.

You can revoke these permissions at any time in iOS Settings.

Widgets

Orden offers Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets. Widget data is shared between the app and its widget extension using Apple’s App Groups, which is a secure on-device data sharing mechanism. No data is transmitted over the network.

Children’s Privacy

Orden does not collect data from anyone, including children. The app is safe for users of all ages.

Calendar Export

When you export a reminder as an .ics file or add it to Apple Calendar, that action is handled entirely by iOS system frameworks (EventKit and UIActivityViewController). We have no access to or control over what happens after you share a file through the system share sheet.

Changes to This Policy

If we update this privacy policy, we will post the revised version at this URL with an updated date. Since Orden collects no data, meaningful changes are unlikely.
