Eatbyle (“we”, “our”, or “us”) respects your privacy.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use the Eatbyle mobile application (“App”).

By using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy.


1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

Eatbyle is designed to minimize personal data collection.

We may collect the following types of information:

A. Device Information

We may collect and store an anonymous device identifier to:

  • Enable loyalty features (stamp cards, weekly boosts)
  • Prevent fraud or abuse
  • Enforce usage limits
  • Manage Staff Mode activation
  • Improve app functionality

This device identifier:

  • Does not directly identify you as a person
  • Is not linked to your name, email, or phone number
  • Is not used for cross-app tracking

B. Loyalty and Usage Data

If you use loyalty features, we may store:

  • Loyalty progress (stamp counts)
  • Weekly usage counts
  • Deal redemptions
  • Time of redemption
  • Associated anonymous device identifier

This data is used solely to operate the loyalty system.


C. Staff Mode Data

If Staff Mode is activated:

  • A device identifier is stored and linked to a specific place (restaurant).
  • Activation attempts may be logged to prevent unauthorized access.

This information is used only for access control and security.


D. Subscription Information

If you subscribe to Eatbyle Pro:

  • Subscription status
  • Purchase validation information from Apple App Store or Google Play

Eatbyle does not store full payment information.
Payments are processed by Apple or Google.


E. Location Data (Optional Feature)

If you enable Nearby Deal Alerts:

  • The App may request access to your device location.
  • Location may be used to trigger notifications when near participating restaurants.

Important:

  • Location access is optional.
  • You may disable location access at any time in device settings.
  • We do not store continuous movement history.
  • We do not track you outside of functionality required to trigger alerts.

F. QR Code Scanning

The App may include QR scanning functionality.

  • The camera is used only to read QR codes.
  • We do not store images.
  • We do not upload photos.
  • QR data is used only for validating loyalty or access codes.

2. HOW WE USE INFORMATION

We use collected information to:

  • Operate and maintain the App
  • Enable loyalty programs
  • Validate deal redemptions
  • Manage subscriptions
  • Improve security
  • Prevent fraud or misuse
  • Send optional deal notifications (if enabled)

We do not sell personal data.


3. DATA SHARING

We do not sell, rent, or trade your data.

We may share limited technical data with:

  • Infrastructure providers (e.g., Supabase cloud services)
  • Apple App Store / Google Play for subscription validation

These providers process data only as necessary to provide services.


4. DATA STORAGE AND SECURITY

We use industry-standard security practices to protect data.

Device identifiers and loyalty records are stored securely in cloud infrastructure.

Staff activation attempts may be logged to prevent brute-force access attempts.


5. DATA RETENTION

We retain anonymous device and loyalty data as long as necessary to:

  • Operate the App
  • Enforce usage limits
  • Maintain security

You may request deletion of stored data by contacting us (see Contact section).


6. YOUR RIGHTS (GDPR / EEA USERS)

If you are located in the EU/EEA, including Norway, you have the right to:

  • Request access to your data
  • Request correction
  • Request deletion
  • Object to processing
  • Withdraw consent (for location access)

Because Eatbyle does not collect personal identity information, fulfilling some requests may require providing your device identifier.


7. CHILDREN’S PRIVACY

Eatbyle is not directed toward children under 13.
We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.


8. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

Eatbyle may rely on:

  • Apple App Store
  • Google Play
  • Cloud infrastructure providers

These services have their own privacy policies.


9. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically.

Continued use of the App after changes are made constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
