By using eatbyle. you agree to the following terms. Please read them carefully — they’re written to be clear, not clever.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using eatbyle. (the “App”), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, do not use the App. We may update these terms from time to time — continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
2. About eatbyle.
eatbyle. is a curated dining discovery platform that helps you find restaurants, track spending, collect deals, attend member events, and build a personal taste profile. The App is operated by eatbyle. (“we”, “us”, “our”), based in Oslo, Norway.
3. Account & Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it up to date. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or engage in fraudulent activity.
4. Subscriptions & Payments
eatbyle. offers free and premium (Pro) tiers. Subscriptions are billed through Apple’s App Store and are subject to Apple’s terms. Prices are displayed before purchase. Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your iPhone’s Settings → Subscriptions. Refunds are handled by Apple in accordance with their refund policy.
5. Deals, Offers & Redemptions
Deals and offers shown in the App are provided by participating venues and are subject to availability and venue-specific terms. eatbyle. acts as a platform connecting you with venues — we do not guarantee the availability, quality, or accuracy of any deal. Misuse of the redemption system (including attempting to redeem deals fraudulently) may result in temporary lockout or account suspension.
6. Events & Reservations
eatbyle. may offer member events and reservation features. Event availability, capacity, and details are managed by venues or eatbyle. and may change without notice. By RSVPing or reserving, you agree to honour your commitment. Repeated no-shows may affect your access to future events.
7. Spending & Receipt Scanning
The spending tracker and receipt scanner are tools to help you monitor your dining expenses. Receipt data is processed to extract amounts and venue information. We do not guarantee 100% accuracy of scanned data. You can edit or delete any spending entry. Spending data is stored in your private account and is not shared with third parties.
8. Content & Intellectual Property
All content in the App — including curated guides, editorial text, design elements, and the eatbyle. brand — is owned by or licensed to eatbyle. and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without prior written consent. Venue photos and descriptions are sourced from venues or licensed providers.
9. User Conduct
You agree not to: (a) use the App for any unlawful purpose; (b) attempt to gain unauthorised access to other accounts or our systems; (c) submit false information, fake reviews, or fraudulent redemptions; (d) interfere with or disrupt the App’s functionality; (e) reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the App.
10. Location Services
Certain features (nearby places, map views, proximity-based deals) require access to your device’s location. Location data is used only while you actively use these features and is not stored on our servers. You can disable location access at any time in your device settings, though some features may be limited.
11. Privacy & Data
Your privacy matters to us. Our Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your data. By using the App, you also agree to our Privacy Policy. In summary: we don’t sell your data, we don’t run third-party ad trackers, and personalisation happens on your device using Apple’s on-device intelligence.
12. Third-Party Services
The App integrates with third-party services including Apple (App Store, Sign in with Apple, MapKit, Wallet), RevenueCat (subscription management), and Supabase (backend services). Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms. We are not responsible for the availability or practices of third-party services.
13. Gift Cards
Gift cards purchased through eatbyle. are subject to venue-specific redemption terms. Gift cards are non-refundable unless required by applicable law. We are not responsible for lost or stolen gift card codes. Gift cards may have expiration dates as specified at the time of purchase.
14. Disclaimers
The App is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. Restaurant information, opening hours, and deal availability may change without notice. eatbyle. is not responsible for your dining experience at any venue.
15. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, eatbyle. shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid to eatbyle. in the 12 months preceding the claim.
16. Account Deletion
You can delete your account at any time from the App (Profile → Account → Delete Account). Upon deletion, your personal data, taste profile, spending history, favourites, and lists are permanently removed. Active subscriptions should be cancelled separately through Apple. Deletion is irreversible.
17. Changes to the App
We continuously improve eatbyle. and may add, modify, or remove features at any time. We may also discontinue the App entirely with reasonable notice. We are not liable for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the App or any part of it.
18. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Norway. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of the App shall be resolved in the courts of Oslo, Norway, unless mandatory consumer protection laws in your jurisdiction provide otherwise.
